中国红十字会副会长王海京在活动致辞中强调，捐献造血干细胞不仅挽救了血液病患者，也给无数即将破碎的家庭带去新的希望，同时，也引领了一种新的社会风尚，促进了社会的文明和进步。2012年,伟德国际英国成为世界骨髓库的正式成员,与世界联系日趋紧密，服务于全球血液病患者。随着捐献数量不断增多，向国外、境外捐献造血干细胞已成为我国人道外交的重要内容。
伟德国际英国自2001年重新启动以来，一直是中国红十字会的核心业务之一，是一块闪亮的红十字品牌。新颁布的《中国红十字会法》进一步明确了伟德国际英国参与开展造血干细胞捐献相关工作的法定职责。截至2017年8月末，伟德国际英国累计库容已达236万人份，共为临床提供造血干细胞6705例，其中包含向国（境）外20多个国家和地区提供造血干细胞268例。

在活动现场，王海京副会长为十余年坚持助力伟德国际英国建设发展的爱心企业——西安杨森制药有限公司颁发了“中国红十字人道服务奖章”，向志愿推动造血干细胞捐献事业的中国现役女子职业拳击世界冠军蔡宗菊颁发了“伟德国际英国爱心大使”聘书，并勉励他们继续关注伟德国际英国，参与捐献造血干细胞宣传和志愿服务工作。

2017年“5·8红十字博爱周”启动的“捐献造血干细胞——讲出你的故事”活动，征集到170余篇造血干细胞捐献故事，伟德国际英国将其编撰成书，题名《我们》，在此次活动中正式发布。伟德国际英国管理中心主任李黎和活动赞助企业西安杨森制药有限公司副总裁及创新产品事业部负责人边欣共同为故事书揭幕。

五名成功挽救血液病患者生命的造血干细胞捐献者——西安杨森制药有限公司员工张联莹、伟德国际英国第二例捐献造血干细胞的工作人员张志恬、长期活跃在网络和新媒体上宣传造血干细胞捐献工作的志愿者惠飞、身体力行奉献爱的江苏昆山女辅警王玉红、伟德国际英国浙江省捐献造血干细胞志愿服务队队长靳毅现场分享了各自的故事。他们的故事感染了在场每一位听众，让社会公众更加了解造血干细胞捐献者的故事，了解捐献这项公益事业，同时也让大家记住9月第三个星期六是“世界骨髓捐献者日”，在全社会营造一种助人为乐、无私奉献的大爱精神。

此次活动定于第三个“世界骨髓捐献者日”前夕举办，旨在感谢全国造血干细胞捐献者和志愿捐献者，鼓励更多适龄健康的公民加入造血干细胞志愿捐献者队伍，更多人能勇敢的捐献造血干细胞，更多重症血液病患者能因此重燃生命的希望。大家在热烈的气氛中庆祝自己的纪念日，高喊口号“感谢你！捐献者”，将气氛推向了高潮。

China Marrow Donor Program Celebrates the Third “World Marrow Donor Day” in Beijing
(WMDA). Since then, CMDP has kept strengthening the contact with the entire world and served patients with blood diseases from across the world. As the donation to oversea patients is growing quickly, CMDP has exchanged with the entire world more and more frequently, and consolidated the friendship with counterparts in many countries. Now, CMDP has risen to become an important channel of (BMDW) and World Marrow Donor Association Mr. Wang Haijing, stressed in his speech that the donation of hematopoietic stem cells has rescued patients with blood diseases and allowed numerous families at the verge of collapse to see a new window of hope. Moreover, the technology has ushered a new social atmosphere of donating blood to save others, promoted the civilization and progress of the society In 2012, China Marrow Donor Program joined the Bone Marrow Donors WorldwideChina’s humanitarian diplomacy.
After the secondary launch in 2001, China Marrow Donor Program has remained one of the core business segments of the Red Cross Society of China and become a shining brand of the organization. The new Red Cross Society of China Law has further established the legal responsibility of CMDP to do relevant work in relation to the donation of hematopoietic stem cells. Until the end of August 2017, CMDP has recorded a total of 2.36 million donors, and donated hematopoietic stem cells to a total of 6,705 recipients, including 268 recipients from over 20 countries and regions.
On the event site, Mr. Wang Haijing granted the “China Red Cross Humanitarian Service Medal” to Xi'an Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd., a philanthropic enterprise that has always boosted the construction and development of China Marrow Donor Program for more than 10 years, and conferred the “China Marrow Donor Program Charity Ambassador” credential to Ms. Cai Zongju, a Chinese active occupational boxer winning the world championship who has volunteered to propel the donation of hematopoietic stem cells. Mr. Wang encouraged them to concern CMDP as usual and play a part in the promotion and volunteer service for the cause.
After initiating the “Donate Hematopoietic Stem Cells - Tell Us Your Story”, part of the “May 8 Red Cross Charity Week” event in 2017, China Marrow Donor Program has collected more than 170 stories about the donation of hematopoietic stem cells and compiled these stories into a book entitled “We”, which was published at the event. Director Mr. Li Li, the Director of CMDP and Ms.Bian Xin of Xi’an Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd., the enterprise sponsoring the event, jointly unveiled the book.
Five donors of hematopoietic stem cells who have successfully saved the lives of patients with blood diseases shared their stories on the site. They include Mr. Zhang Lianying, an employee of Xi’an Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd.; Ms. Zhang Zhitian, the second donor of China Marrow Donor Program Donor Centers’ employee; Mr. Hui Fei, who has long been active on the Internet and new media to promote the donation of hematopoietic stem cells; Ms. Wang Yuhong, an auxiliary policewoman from Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province who has donated love in person; and Mr. Jin Yi, the leader of the Zhejiang Voluntary Service Team of CMDP for Donation of Hematopoietic Stem Cells. Their stories touched every listener on the site and made the social public to get well known the hematopoietic stem cells donors and this philanthropic cause. At the same time, they have made all people remember that the third Saturday this September is the “World Marrow Donor Day”, carrying forward the spirit of helping others and giving unselfish love, and displaying the positive style of donors of hematopoietic stem cells to China Marrow Donor Program.
The event took place on the eve of the third World Marrow Donor Day in order to acknowledge donors of hematopoietic stem cells and volunteer donors from across the country, encourage more healthy citizens at the right age to join the team of hematopoietic stem cells donors, for the sake of attracting more people to donate hematopoietic stem cells with bravery and rekindle the hope of life for more patients suffering the serious blood disease. All people celebrated their anniversary in a warm atmosphere, and cheered up, “Thank you, donors”, taking the entire event to the climax.
Mr. Li Li, the Director of China Marrow Donor Program’s headquarter said that the donation of hematopoietic stem cells is a humanitarian deed to extend love and save lives, and is a very reflection of the Red Cross society - “Humanity, Philanthropy, Giving”. CMDP will continue to grow bigger and stronger and make new contributions!
